Terms of Use "Unser Dubai"
1. Scope and provider
1.1 These Terms of Use govern the use of the "Unser Dubai" app and website (iOS, Android, web) by all users, including those with a free account. The provider is NEXTLEVEL CORPORATE SERVICE PROVIDER - FZCO, Building A1 / IFZA Business Park, Dubai Digital Park, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (see the Legal Notice) ("we", "us").
1.2 Purchases and subscriptions: for purchases in the App Store or on Google Play, the terms of Apple or Google apply (Apple/Google is the seller). There the packages are auto-renewing subscriptions: the store shows the title, term, price and renewal conditions before you buy, and you cancel the subscription only in the store (Apple ID settings, or Google Play under "Payments & subscriptions"). For packages obtained or unlocked in another way (for example through the website or with an unlock code), the terms agreed at that time apply; a subscription through the website is also ongoing and can be cancelled there. If you buy a higher package on the website while a store subscription is running, that does not end the store subscription; the credit and details are in the Terms of Sale for purchases via the website (section 7). Then cancel the store subscription yourself in the store, otherwise you are billed twice. These Terms of Use apply to the use of the app in all cases.
2. Relationship with Apple and Google
2.1 iOS: the licence to the app is additionally governed by the Apple Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA) between you and Apple (https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/). We do not use our own EULA. Apple is not responsible for maintenance, support, warranty or third-party claims relating to the app; Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of the Standard EULA. In case of conflict, the Standard EULA prevails for the app licence; otherwise (account, content, AI, liability) these Terms of Use apply.
2.2 Android: for Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service between you and Google apply. The licence to the app follows from section 4 of these Terms.
2.3 Please direct questions about invoices, payment, cancellation and refunds for store purchases to Apple or Google (see the Refund Policy).
3. Account
3.1 You need an account for features beyond the free preview (sign-in with an email link/password, "Sign in with Apple" or "Sign in with Google", where offered). Your account works on all supported devices; unlocked packages are linked to your account. If your package ends because you cancelled or a payment was not made, your account returns to the free preview; your data is kept as described in the Privacy Policy.
3.2 You must be at least 18 years old. Your details must be true. Keep your login details secret and tell us if you suspect misuse.
3.3 Unlock codes: access can also be unlocked with a code from a company or partner. Use only codes that were assigned to you.
3.4 You can delete your account at any time in the app ("Profile → Delete account") or request deletion by email to [email protected]. For the consequences, see the Privacy Policy. Deleting your account does not end a subscription in the App Store or on Google Play; cancel it in the store first (section 1.2). We delete accounts that have had no active access (no running package or subscription) for 12 months and have not been signed in during that time, together with the associated data; for free accounts, 12 months without signing in is enough. About 30 days beforehand we remind you by email with the deletion date; signing in or buying a new package prevents the deletion. Invoice and purchase data are kept in blocked form until statutory, in particular tax, retention periods end. Data that is only on your device (vault, reminders) is not affected. On the website you can extend the retention for a fee (Terms of Sale, section 12); this gives no access to package content.
4. Right of use
4.1 We grant you a simple, non-transferable, non-sublicensable right, limited to the duration of your access and to your private use, to use the app and its content.
4.2 In particular, you may not: pass on or share access; systematically extract, copy, scrape or redistribute content and data; circumvent access restrictions; reverse engineer, unless permitted by law; use the AI assistant for automated mass queries; use the app unlawfully or abusively.
4.3 All rights in content, trade marks, data compilations and software remain with us or our licensors. Map data comes from third parties (see the Privacy Policy and the credits in the map).
5. Your entries
Details you enter in the check-up, the planner or feedback remain yours. You grant us the right to store and process them to operate the app for you (details: Privacy Policy). We may use feedback and suggestions for improvement without payment. Please do not enter unlawful content.
Deadline reminders: you enter expiry dates yourself (e.g. visa, Emirates ID, tenancy); the app only reminds you of these entries, as a local notification on your device, if you allow it. The timing may vary (e.g. in power-saving mode or with notifications turned off). The web version has no notifications, only a calendar export. Always check deadlines with the competent authority.
Document vault: files (photo or PDF) you attach are stored only on your device, not uploaded and not backed up. If you change or lose your device, uninstall the app, clear your browser data or the device fails, they are gone. You are responsible for your backups. Please do not use the vault as the only archive for important originals.
Self-check: it gives orientation based on your answers; it is not a verdict and not advice. Your answers stay on your device.
6. AI assistant
6.1 The assistant generates answers automatically using an AI language model. You are not communicating with a human; the chat shows a visible notice about this.
6.2 Answers may be incomplete, outdated or wrong and may resemble answers given to other users. They are not legal, tax, insurance or immigration advice. Check important information with the competent authority or a licensed professional before you act.
6.3 Do not enter special categories of data (e.g. health data, religion, political opinions, ID or account numbers). Your entries are sent to our AI provider to answer you (see the Privacy Policy). Where the app offers a setting to stop sending profile details as context, you can use it at any time.
6.4 Use may be limited per package or for technical reasons (e.g. number of requests).
7. Country information and content
7.1 The app contains information on Dubai/UAE and on leaving various home countries (deregistration, tax, health insurance, return). It reflects the status as of the date stated and is based on publicly available, where possible official, sources. Laws, fees, deadlines and official practice change. We strive to keep information correct and up to date but cannot guarantee completeness, accuracy or currency (details: Disclaimer).
7.2 The country content does not cover all countries or individual cases. Different rules may apply to your situation.
8. Links, maps, third-party services
The app links to third parties (authorities, portals, schools, map providers) and uses third-party services. They are responsible for their own content, offers and data protection. Binding prices, appointments and opening hours are available only from the provider.
9. Health insurance and external link (advertisement)
The knowledge card on health insurance is general information. The link marked as an advertisement leads to insurance4expats.com. insurance4expats is offered by Verus Vorsorge GmbH, in which a founder of Unser Dubai holds an interest. Verus Vorsorge GmbH is a separate company and not the operator of the app. The app contains no enquiry form and passes on no data. An insurance contract is concluded only with Verus Vorsorge GmbH or the insurer; we do not broker or advise.
10. Availability and changes
We may develop the app further, change features and carry out maintenance. We do not owe uninterrupted availability. For buyers, the terms agreed at purchase on changes to digital products apply.
11. Suspension and termination
If you breach these Terms, we may suspend or end your account, as a rule after a prior warning, and immediately in case of serious breaches. The terms agreed at purchase on refunds remain unaffected.
12. Liability
We are liable without limit under the statutory provisions for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body and health and under mandatory product liability law. For slight negligence we are liable only for breach of essential contractual duties and limited to foreseeable, typical damage. For free use ("Free"), as far as permitted by law, we are liable only for intent and gross negligence and in the other cases where the law makes liability mandatory. Mandatory consumer rights of your country of residence remain unaffected.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
The laws of the United Arab Emirates, as applicable in the Emirate of Dubai, apply. Mandatory consumer protection provisions of the country where you habitually reside and mandatory places of jurisdiction in your favour remain unaffected. For buyers, the terms agreed at purchase apply in addition.
14. Changes, language, contact
We may change these Terms with effect for the future where there is a valid reason (e.g. new features, changes in the law). We will inform you of material changes in advance in the app or by email. Where your consent to a change is required by law, we will ask for it separately. Changes will not restrict services you have already paid for to your disadvantage, unless the terms agreed at purchase permit this. The German and English versions apply; if they differ, the version in the app language you have chosen prevails.
