How we create our content

Unser Dubai explains the steps, deadlines and costs of moving to Dubai. So that you can rely on it, we follow fixed rules. This page describes them.

Official sources with dates

  • Every factual statement on visas, fees, deadlines, tax or law is based on a source. We use official bodies first, for example ICP, GDRFA Dubai, the government portal u.ae, the Dubai Land Department, the RTA and the authorities of the home countries.
  • For every source we record the date it was retrieved. Guides and government steps show when they were last checked.
  • Market figures such as rents or school fees are benchmarks. We label them as such and say where they come from.
  • Where a source is not clear or sources disagree, we write "in general …" and name the office where you confirm your own case.
  • Official fees are set in AED. As a guide we convert them into euros or your home currency at a reference rate and show the AED amount as well.

Review and approval

  • Factual content, amounts and legal notes only appear once the founders Angelina Seitz and Tassilo Peter Seitz have checked and approved them.
  • With every new version of the app we check the reference rates and the content whose sources have changed.
  • Reports from users and changes to sources lead to a new review. A correction is approved in the same way as new content.

Weekly source check

  • An automatic check retrieves the official sources we use about once a week and compares them with the previous version, in particular the fees they state.
  • If a source changes, we receive a message listing the affected content. We then check ourselves whether and how the content needs to change.
  • The check never changes content automatically. It follows the websites' rules for automated access (robots.txt).

Report an error

  • In the app, government steps, guides, roadmap tasks and cost benchmarks have a link "Something not right?". There you briefly describe what is wrong and can add a source. For the guides on this website, send us an email.
  • You do not need to sign in. Your email address is optional. If you give it, we will get back to you.
  • You can also write to us directly: [email protected].
  • We look at every report. How we handle your details is set out in the privacy policy.

No legal or tax advice

  • Unser Dubai is information and planning to do it yourself. We do not provide legal, tax, insurance or migration advice.
  • Rules, fees and procedures can change at short notice. The responsible office is always authoritative. For your own case, contact the authority or a licensed professional.
  • Details are in the disclaimer.

Partners and advertising

  • Company setup: from the app you can send an enquiry to IFZA (International Free Zone Authority, a free zone in Dubai). We only pass on your details with your consent. IFZA contacts you directly. Unser Dubai is not a party to your contract and does not give legal or tax advice.
  • Health insurance: the app shows a general knowledge card on mandatory insurance with official sources and a link marked as an advertisement. insurance4expats is offered by Verus Vorsorge GmbH, in which one of the founders of Unser Dubai holds a stake. The app has no enquiry form and does not pass on any data.
  • For some recommendations or links we may receive a payment, for example a referral commission. We mark such links as advertising or partner links. This costs you nothing extra. Factual statements do not depend on it.
  • We only show partner logos with the partner's approval.

Use of AI

  • We use AI tools for research, drafts and translations. We check every factual statement against the source given before it is approved.
  • The AI assistant in the app answers automatically. Its answers can be wrong and do not replace checking with the responsible office.
